What is Credit Pack?

A prepaid bundle of session credits that can be redeemed flexibly across different classes or dates, popular with multi-activity providers.

In Detail

A credit pack is a prepaid bundle of session credits that families can use flexibly — attending different classes, at different times, or across different activity types within your programme. For example, a family might purchase a ten-credit pack and use three credits for swimming, four for gymnastics, and three for dance, attending whenever it suits them within a validity period.

Credit packs are particularly popular with multi-activity providers and businesses targeting families with multiple children or varied schedules. They offer a middle ground between the commitment of block bookings and the premium pricing of drop-in sessions. Typical credit pack structures include: a set number of credits at a discounted per-credit rate, an expiry date (usually three to six months), and rules about how many credits can be used per session or per week.

From a business perspective, credit packs provide upfront revenue and encourage families to try multiple activities (increasing their engagement and lifetime value). However, they require a booking system that can track credit balances and redemptions, and you need to manage the accounting carefully — prepaid credits represent a liability on your balance sheet until they are redeemed. Setting appropriate expiry dates prevents indefinite liabilities.
